2024 Regenerative Agriculture Workshop Series
Workshops run 2 hours and focus on a particular aspect of farm production. We will be looking at the particulars of Fresh City Farm's methods, mostly in a casual classroom format with demonstrations. There may be some hands-on components, and we will be at the farm so a hat, gloves, water and snacks are recommended. $45 plus tax per person. There are some sliding-scale tickets available if you aren't able to cover the whole fee. Contact: farm@freshcityfarms.com
ESSENTIALS OF NO-TILL GARDENING
No-till gardening and farming is relatively new, although these concepts are very old. It started with the known fact that tillage destroys soil. Many ancient civilizations that exploited the land through extensive tillage drove themselves to extinction. In small organic farming, and in large-scale industrial farming, no-till represents a revolution leading to soil preservation and growth, albeit in different ways. We will go over different No and Low-Till techniques that we have tried and continue to use, and that you can use at home.
